Course Features

An Intensive Course for motivated students who are fully dedicated to learning Chinese. Learn Mandarin fast with 80 hours of class over 4 weeks in small group classes of 3 to 6 students. One course term will cover half of a Course Level. The course requires 3 students to commence. Each class will be 4 hours long from Monday through Friday. Classes will have 2 segments from11:15am-4:00pm with a 45 minutes lunch break in between.

Course Objective

This course is for students who want to Mandarin in the shortest time. This class will give students plenty of opportunities to speak and listen to more Mandarin. We aim to achieve mastery and fluency in a short amount of time.

Course Levels


Pinyin
For absolute beginners, we will start with Pinyin. Students will learn the sounds of Mandarin Chinese, and practice correct pronunciation of the language. For Beginner 1 students with more than 30 hours of Mandarin learning experience, you can start at a later lesson of Textbook 1. E.g. Lesson 4.

A Course in Contemporary Chinese Textbook 1
After a brief overview of Pinyin, students will be learning the basics of Mandarin with practical daily Chinese conversations and applications.

In Textbook 1, there are 15 lessons total. By the end of the course students will be able to:
Give self-introductions and simple greetings
Take part in simple conversations
Buy things and ask about prices
Express likes and dislikes and give opinions
Give descriptions of someone’s appearance, of a place, of a food’s taste, etc.
Make requests and plan for future events

A Course in Contemporary Chinese Textbook 2
In Beginner 2, students will continue to learn the basics of Mandarin with practical daily Chinese conversations. In addition, students will also be able to read short essays and other supplemental reading.

In Textbook 2, there are 15 lessons total. By the end of the course students will be able to:
Ask for and give directions
Talk about past experiences
Know what to do at a Taiwanese wedding
Carry on in a conversation
Ask and answer hypothetical questions
Describe your travel experiences
Talk about the good and bad aspects of a situation

A Course in Contemporary Chinese Textbook 3
In Intermediate 1, students will continue to learn conversational Mandarin & reading short essays. Intermediate 1 will also introduce extended dialogues.

In Textbook 3, there are 12 lessons total. By the end of the course students will be able to:
Have a detailed discussion
Offer clean reasons for why you like or dislike certain things
Describe changes in the weather
Emphasize, give examples, and provide further information
Talk about changes in society
State reasons methodically and sum up your thoughts
Talk about your education and work experience
Explain the pros and cons of an activity
Explain the origins and narrate the details of an event
Express your views and reasons for opposing something

A Course in Contemporary Chinese Textbook 4
Intermediate 2 students will continue to learn conversational Mandarin, reading short essays, and extended dialogues. Intermediate 2 students will be able to confidently converse with native Mandarin speakers.

In Textbook 4, there are 12 lessons total. By the end of the course students will be able to:
Understand main points of clear standard input on routine matters in work, school, leisure, etc.
Deal with most situations likely to arise whilst traveling in a Chinese speaking area
Describe experiences, dreams, and ambitions and briefly give reasons for opinions and plans
Produce simple connected text on familiar topics

Textbooks are required for the course and are sold separately.

    Fill out the application form online by clicking on “Apply”. If you are unsure of your level, fill out the form as best you can and we will figure out the right level for you. Class times and schedules may also change depending on when we have the right class for you.

    Application Process

    We will check your application and communicate with you to confirm the right class for you to join. Please reply to our email to confirm your course. Once you are ready to join the course, we will send you a payment request to enroll.

    Payment

    Students can pay a NT$1000 deposit to enroll in the course. The deposit will be deducted from the total tuition and the remaining tuition could be paid on the first day of class.

    Enrollment Completed

    Once your deposit or tuition fee is received you will be officially enrolled in the course. We will send an enrollment confirmation within 1 business day.


Enrollment Information
Payment options for the program are Paypal (for international payments), bank transfer (for local banks), and in person (visit us during business hours). This program can only accept a limited number of students and the application period will end once 6 students enroll.
